Castle of Creixell Monument · Creixell, Tarragonès, Tarragona Polygonal castle (nine sides) in the highest part of the village; its oldest parts date from the late 11th century, though most of what is visible is later than the 16th. Next to it, three 14th-century defense towers -Cal Jeroni, Cal Xacó, and Ca la Miquelina- were part of the wall that surrounded the medieval settlement. Today the castle is privately owned and survives in good condition. A Bien Cultural de Interés Nacional (Catalonia's top heritage-protection category).
