La Garita, a structure declared a cultural asset of national interest in the municipality of Riba-roja d'Ebre (Ribera d'Ebre), stands on the camí dels Hereuins, south of the town centre, in a strategic location with wide visual command over the river Ebro. It is a quadrangular building, preserved up to halfway through the first floor, with walls of irregular stone laid in courses and ashlar at the corners; small loopholes open at both levels. Its origins are remote: everything suggests it is a medieval watchtower, which has been used in the various armed conflicts the area has experienced.
