La Palma d'Ebre Village · la Palma d'Ebre, Ribera d'Ebre, Tarragona La Palma d'Ebre is a small municipality in the province of Tarragona, in Catalonia, in the north of the comarca of the Ribera d'Ebre, on the border with the Priorat, at 335 metres of altitude. It has 333 inhabitants. Until the 1916 reform it was called simply La Palma; its history was tied to the barony of Flix, which Barcelona acquired in 1389 to secure river transport and which, after losing it in the war against John II, recovered around 1481 by order of Ferdinand the Catholic. In the village's so-called “castell” the old water tank, built in 1924, is preserved today. In the upper part stands the Romanesque church of Santa Maria, from the 12th-13th centuries. Near the village grows the Pi de Cal Pino, the largest white pine in Catalonia. Photo: Viatgepercatalunya (CC BY-SA 3.0) What to see and do in la Palma d'Ebre
