Towpath of the Ribera d'Ebre Curiosity · Ginestar, Ribera d'Ebre, Tarragona Image of Ginestar, not of the place itself. The Camí de Sirga de la Ribera d'Ebre is an old path alongside the Ebro river from which men used to pull boats upstream, in a river tradition that also used llaguts towed by mules, now vanished. The lower stretch of the Ebro, between Sástago and Riumar, is today part of the GR 99 long-distance footpath, which follows the course of the river to its mouth and has turned this old working path into a cycling and hiking route.
