The Festa Major d'Hivern (Winter Patron Saint Festival) of Porrera is celebrated on the second Sunday of November in honour of Sant Francesc d'Assís; it was moved to this date to better coincide with the grape harvest. During the festival typical patron-saint-festival acts take place, such as the trencada d'olla (pot-breaking) and the distribution of coques (flatbreads), in a town known for its red wines, next to the termened castle of Porrera.
