Church of els Guiamets Monument · els Guiamets, Priorat, Tarragona The church of Sant Lluís dels Guiamets is a Baroque parish church, rectangular in plan with three naves of three bays separated by pilasters, with a barrel vault and lunettes in the central nave. The octagonal bell tower rises at the foot of the church to a height of 36 metres, and the sober façade features an oculus and a stone doorway decorated with volutes. The parish was established as a vicariate in 1784 and raised to parish status in 1787; in 1791 the Bishop of Tortosa granted permission to build the new church, replacing the previous one, which was in poor condition. The church was partly destroyed in July 1936, losing archives and altars, and was restored precariously after the war. The village's festa major is celebrated between 20 and 25 August.
