Castle of Conesa Monument · Conesa, Conca de Barberà, Tarragona A manor house built on the site of the old castle, on the main square of Conesa (Conca de Barberà, Tarragona), at 699 metres above sea level. With a ground floor, one upper floor and an attic, with a double-pitched roof, it has round and segmental arches on the ground floor, and on the first floor four large windows bearing the coats of arms of the monastery of Santes Creus and of abbot Jeroni Contijoch. Inside it preserves porticoed halls and a dining room with wooden beams and coffered ceilings. Documented since 1123, in 1178 King Alfonso granted it to Ramon de Cervera, and in 1210 King Peter transferred it to Guillem de Guardialada; around 1285 it passed to the monastery of Santes Creus, which commissioned the present building from abbot Jeroni Contijoch in 1569. It is declared an asset of national cultural interest. Photo: Maria Rosa Ferré (talk) (CC BY-SA 3.0) What to see and do in Conesa
