Tower of Cap-roig Monument · l'Ampolla, Baix Ebre, Tarragona Image of l'Ampolla, not of the place itself. Circular tower seven metres in diameter, built of stone and lime mortar, which watched over the coast of l'Ampolla from the eastern end of the Minyana point, a rocky spur that runs into the sea among carob trees and low vegetation. Its existence was known from documentary references and old cartography, and its remains were located again in May 1992. On 26 August 2002, a territorial archaeologist from the Terres de l'Ebre, alerted by the construction of a hotel complex at the Minyana point, found that the remains of the tower had disappeared, probably destroyed by earthmoving works, which were already well advanced; the underground defensive galleries near the tower had also disappeared.
