Hermitage of l'Aldea Monument · l'Aldea, Baix Ebre, Tarragona The hermitage stands next to the tower of l'Aldea, from the 12th century and rebuilt in the 18th, one of the four old towers preserved in the municipality that served to defend the mouth of the Ebro. The other three are that of Burjassènia, already documented in 1188 and with a circular base 14 metres high, that of Vinaixarop, mentioned in documents from 1288, also with a circular base, and that of la Candela, from the 16th century.
