Church of Vilaplana

Parish church of Vilaplana (Baix Camp, Tarragona), at the foot of the Mola de Colldejou, dedicated to Saint Mary. Its construction began on 29 June 1736 and it was blessed in 1739; the bell tower was erected in 1744 and the sacristy works continued until 1765. It is a Baroque building with three naves, with a barrel vault with lunettes in the central nave and groin vaults in the side ones. The altarpiece was destroyed in 1936, but a Romanesque image of the Mare de Déu de la Llet is preserved. It is listed as a cultural asset of local interest.
