Tower of defensa de Pratdip Monument · Pratdip, Baix Camp, Tarragona Medieval defence tower located in the municipality of Pratdip, in the Baix Camp comarca (Tarragona), declared a Bien Cultural de Interés Nacional (Catalonia's designation for cultural heritage of national interest). It is a very well preserved square tower, built of rubble masonry with ashlar at the corners. It retains part of its battlemented parapet and a machicolation, though deteriorated. It formed part of the old walled precinct of Pratdip, a town that belonged to the Barony of Entença: according to the historian Josep Iglésies, the village was once entirely walled, with square towers standing at irregular intervals, encircling the hill up to the heavy obelisk that guards the castle.
