Tower of la Mixarda Monument · Figuerola del Camp, Alt Camp, Tarragona The Torre de la Mixarda, also called Torre dels Moros, is a circular watch and defence tower, about 6.5 m in diameter and 10 m high, in the municipality of Figuerola del Camp. Its rubble masonry walls, 0.80 m thick, retain arrow slits, three square windows in the upper part and the remains of three machicolations. In the basement, covered with a stone vault, there is an old cistern and an inscription from 1615 found during an excavation in 2007. Despite the tradition linking it to the watchtowers raised after the reconquest of Tarragona in 812, its construction rather suggests a more modern building, with no documentary basis for a medieval origin. The town council bought it in 2006 and, restored, it has been open to visitors since 2009. Photo: Profrob (CC BY-SA 4.0) What to see and do in Figuerola del Camp
