Manor House of the Marquises of Vallgornera Monument · el Rourell, Alt Camp, Tarragona Manor house in the municipality of el Rourell, comarca of Alt Camp, protected as a cultural asset of national interest and popularly known as El Castell. Square in plan and of large dimensions, it stands in the centre of the village; its most notable feature is the semicircular-arch portal with stone voussoirs and three coats of arms carved into the keystone and the springers. It preserves medieval elements, Gothic windows and two towers, although it was greatly altered in the 18th century. The first castle on the site was built in the late 12th century, after the village was ceded to the Order of the Temple; in 1703 the lordship was bought by Salvador de Baldric, whose family inherited the title of marquises of Vallgornera.
