Landscape of the Ribèra d'Es Bòrdes Nature · es Bòrdes, Val d'Aran, Lleida Image of es Bòrdes, not of the place itself. Es Bòrdes, at 852 m in the Mijaran (middle Aran), sits at the confluence of the Garona, which borders it to the north, and the Joeu, which borders it to the south; the village, of relatively recent origin, grew out of the huts that shepherds built to spend the night when taking livestock to graze on the other side of the river. The Garona is Catalonia's only river on the Atlantic slope. Photo: Isidre blanc (CC BY-SA 4.0) What to see and do in es Bòrdes
