The landscape of the municipality of Bausen, in the Val d'Aran, belongs to the Atlantic slope of the Pyrenees, at its western end. It is a very mountainous area, watered by the Bausen river, with abundant granite rock and Silurian outcrops; in the higher parts there are small estanys, and the fir and beech forests stand out.
