Mountain range of el Verd

The Serra del Verd is a range of the Pre-Pyrenees located southwest of Gósol, straddling the comarques of Solsonès, on its southern slope, Alt Urgell, on the western part of the northern slope, and Berguedà, on the eastern part of that same slope. Its main ridge, running west-east, extends for just over six kilometres between the coll de la Moixa and the coll de Pradell. Declared a protected natural area, it presents gentle relief with exokarstic features, such as the dolines of the prat Navidal, and hosts black pine forests along with subalpine species of interest such as the capercaillie, which here is at the southern limit of its range.
