Cardener River through the Solsonès

The river Cardener rises at the Fonts del Cardener, in the municipality of la Coma i la Pedra, at the foot of Port del Comte, at about 1,100 metres altitude; from its source it already carries a relatively significant flow, of about 0.33 cubic metres per second. In its initial stretch through the Solsonès it runs for nearly 39.8 kilometres, a little over 45% of its 87-kilometre total course, crossing the municipalities of la Coma, Guíxers, Navès, Lladurs and Olius before reaching Clariana de Cardener. Along the way it receives tributaries such as the aigua de Valls, les Set Riberetes and the riu Negre, which flows into Clariana de Cardener itself.
