Segre-Cinca Confluence Nature · la Granja d'Escarp, Segrià, Lleida The place where the rivers Segre and Cinca meet, in the municipal district of la Granja d'Escarp, within the great river landscape known as l'Aiguabarreig, which a little further down, at Mequinensa, is completed by the joining of the Segre with the Ebro itself. Bounded by the course of the Cinca at the border with the Baix Cinca and by that of the Segre between the bridge of Seròs, Massalcoreig, la Granja d'Escarp and Almatret, this confluence forms the largest sheet of river water on the Iberian Peninsula, with abundant islands, riverside forests and reed beds. It is an ideal habitat for large numbers of birds, both resident and migratory, which makes it one of the richest river areas on the Lleida plain.
