Of the castle, documented since 1059 and listed among the possessions of Ramon Berenguer I in 1076 under the Cervera family, the circular base of a tower survives, 6.25 m in diameter, of early medieval origin (11th century), integrated into a late medieval 15th-century construction. In 1261 it passed to the Order of the Hospital. A Bien Cultural de Interés Nacional (Catalonia's top heritage-protection category).
