Church of Nostra Senyora de l'Assumpció de Bellvís Monument · Bellvís, Pla d'Urgell, Lleida Parish church of Bellvís, in the Pla d'Urgell (Lleida), built in neoclassical style over the course of the 19th century on the site of an earlier church dedicated to Sant Pere, which fell into ruin in the 18th century. Work began in 1804, was interrupted by the Peninsular War, and resumed in 1814 and 1844; the façade, with columns, mouldings and a central oculus, was finished in 1848. It has a three-nave plan, with a side tower on a square base with rounded corners, built with Arbeca stone and with ashlars reused from the old church. It houses the image of the Virgin of the Soques, venerated in a camarín until 1936, and has been declared an Asset of Local Cultural Interest since 2001.
