Parish Church of Sant Miquel Monument · Bell-lloc d'Urgell, Pla d'Urgell, Lleida Parish church of Bell-lloc d'Urgell (Pla d'Urgell), in a colonial Renaissance style close to neoclassical, with a Latin-cross plan, three naves and a large dome. It was built on the site of the original church, probably Gothic and rebuilt in the 17th century, destroyed during the civil war of 1936; until a provisional church opened in 1942, services were held under the arcades of the Plaza Mayor. Its materials were reused in 1940 for the new church and the rectory, and on 15 June 1945 the foundations of the present church were laid, consecrated on 18 May 1952; of the three bells of the previous church, the small one is preserved. The village also preserves a 12th-century Romanesque doorway and a 13th-century boundary cross, from the earlier church. Photo: Angela Llop (CC BY-SA 2.0) What to see and do in Bell-lloc d'Urgell
