Noguera Pallaresa River Nature · Llavorsí, Pallars Sobirà, Lleida The Noguera Pallaresa is a Pyrenean river flowing north to south, a right-bank tributary of the Segre, which rises at the Pla de Beret, in the Vall d'Aran, a few metres from the source of the Garonne. Unlike the Garonne, which flows towards the Atlantic, the Noguera Pallaresa descends southward and crosses Pallars Sobirà and Pallars Jussà, of which it has been the historic communication axis, until joining the Segre at Camarasa after 154 kilometres. Its basin covers 2,821 km², 12.22% of that of the Segre, and in its upper stretch it gathers the waters of tributaries such as the Bonaigua, the Noguera de Cardós and the Flamicell, crossing municipalities such as Esterri d'Àneu, Sort and Llavorsí, where it is today an international benchmark for rafting and white-water sports.
