The stretch of the Noguera Pallaresa between Sort and Llavorsí (Pallars Sobirà) is one of the best settings for rafting and whitewater sports in Europe. In Llavorsí, where the Noguera de Cardós flows into the Noguera Pallaresa, numerous rafting companies are concentrated. Sort, for its part, has hosted several canoeing championships, including the Freestyle Canoeing World Championship held in 2019.
