The Argenteria of Collegats Curiosity · la Pobla de Segur, Pallars Jussà, Lleida L'Argenteria de Collegats is a water spring on the rock face of the Collegats gorge that has formed travertines - deposits of calcium carbonate precipitated from the Cretaceous limestones - with distinctive shapes. It is located on the left bank of the Noguera Pallaresa, between Gerri de la Sal and la Pobla de Segur, accessible from kilometre 297.6 of the N-260 road. Both the poet Joan Maragall and the architect Antoni Gaudí drew inspiration from it; indeed, Gaudí used l'Argenteria as a reference for the façade of the Casa Milà (La Pedrera) in Barcelona. The site is especially spectacular in winter, when the water freezes and forms large curtains of ice hanging over the rock.
