Politg is an old medieval closed village (poble clos), today a population entity of the municipality of la Baronia de Rialb, in the Noguera region. In the mid-19th century it had only two houses grouped next to the parish church, besides other dwellings scattered across the term, according to Pascual Madoz's Diccionario. In 2023 it had 17 registered inhabitants, of whom 13 lived in the settlement itself, reflecting the depopulation suffered by this settlement over the last two centuries.
