Castle of Seró Monument · Artesa de Segre, Noguera, Lleida The castle of Seró, today converted into a manor house (casal), stands in the village of Seró, within the municipality of Artesa de Segre, near the ravine of the river Senill. It has been documented since the 12th century: in 1172 it is mentioned in the will of Ramon Bernat de Seró, who left half of the castle in usufruct to his widow and, upon her death, the whole of it to his son Ponç. The castle gave its name to a lineage, the Seró, present at the conquest of Balaguer in 1091 alongside count Ermengol IV of Urgell.
