Castle of Grialó Monument · Artesa de Segre, Noguera, Lleida Castle of the municipality of Artesa de Segre located on the Puig de Grialó, a small hill at the edge of the Força plateau from which the village of Colldelrat and the vall del Segre are overlooked; next to its remains stands the church of Sant Miquel de Grialó. It is documented for the first time in 1039, in the deed of sale of the castle of Artesa, and formed part of the term of the castle of Montmagastre, for which it acted as a secondary stronghold to give warning of troop movements. Remains survive of a square tower about nine metres high, built with large squared ashlars, as well as two cisterns cut into the rock; based on its features the fortification has been dated to the 13th or 14th centuries.
