Phylloxera and the triumph of the olive tree

Phylloxera razed at the end of the nineteenth century the vineyards that occupied a good part of the dry farmland of les Garrigues. In their place olives and almonds were planted, and from that substitution was born the olive-grove landscape that today identifies the comarca.
