Rock Shelter of els Punts Curiosity · l'Albi, Garrigues, Lleida Image of l'Albi, not of the place itself. The Balma dels Punts is a rock shelter in the municipality of l'Albi (Garrigues, Lleida) with rock art protected as a World Heritage Site within the Rock Art of the Mediterranean Basin. It lies in the partida of Tarròs, at the foot of a limestone hill, in a balma some ten metres long and three metres high, mushroom-shaped due to the erosion of the ceiling and walls. The pictorial group brings together eleven representations: a deer with large antlers, a rough quadruped or goat, strokes, remains and, above all, more than 400 dots in nine lines, one of the most important such groups in Catalonia, combining the naturalistic and schematic styles. Above, some engravings can also be seen, perhaps medieval. The paintings were discovered in 1995 by some hunters. Photo: Christian Michelides (CC BY-SA 4.0) What to see and do in l'Albi
