Festa Major de Cervià de les Garrigues, a municipality in the Lleida comarca of Garrigues devoted mainly to dryland farming, with crops of cereals, olives and almonds. It features the town's giants, Miquel and Maria de les Besses, christened on 3 October 2015 and built by Jordi Arnau Espuga: they represent a peasant man and woman as a symbol of the youth and labour of the locality. The giant takes its name from the town's patron saint and the giantess from the hermitage of Santa Maria de les Besses.
