Struggles between the Nyerros and Cadells

The town's castle, property of the Cadell family, was one of the focuses of the faction fighting that bloodied Catalonia at the end of the sixteenth century. The royal troops besieged it in 1588 and in 1592 and ended by destroying it after hard resistance.
