The fiesta mayor of Arsèguel is celebrated in a town whose castle, belonging to the Cadell family, was a focal point of the faction feuds of the late 16th century and was besieged by royal troops in 1588 and 1592 until its destruction; since 1976 the town has also hosted the Trobada d'Acordionistes del Pirineu (Pyrenean Accordionists' Gathering) on the last Saturday of July, and it preserves an accordion museum with instruments dating from 1840.
