Tower of la Mora Monument · Sant Feliu de Buixalleu, Selva, Girona Of the Torre de la Mora, a former watchtower on the summit of the turó de la Mora, north of Gaserans (Sant Feliu de Buixalleu), only the base survives, circular in plan and about 9.50 metres in exterior diameter, with walls up to 2 metres thick and a height of just over a metre. A 1996 survey revealed that it was part of an Iberian oppidum of about 80 by 20 metres; excavations place its construction in Roman times, although its last use dates from the 8th-10th centuries, already reused in the Middle Ages as a watch point for the castle of Montsoriu. It dominated the corridor between the Montseny and the Montnegre, through which the Via Augusta passed, and it is believed that, together with the tower of Grions, it relayed signals to the castle during the revolt of Cabrera against Peter III, in 1367.
