Tower of Grions Monument · Sant Feliu de Buixalleu, Selva, Girona Former fortified house converted into a masia, located next to the church of Sant Gabriel de Grions, on a hillock near Hostalric, within the municipality of Sant Feliu de Buixalleu. It is documented since 1240, when it was held by the castellans of the castle of Montsoriu, related to the Malla family of the Plana de Vic, and its construction is dated to around the 13th century; the current owning family acquired it in 1933. According to tradition, the name Grions comes from "grillons" (shackles), because prisoners were chained up in the tower. It comprises a wide fortified enclosure of almost square plan, of nearly 800 square metres, with the tower that gives it its name on the western side, next to the entrance gate.
