Sant Vicenç de Planoles Monument · Planoles, Ripollès, Girona The church of Sant Vicenç de Planoles, first documented in 1141 although the place of Planoles is already mentioned in 938, is a notable Romanesque building from the 11th-12th centuries, restored in the late 20th century. It was initially a single-nave church with a semicircular apse decorated with a frieze of Lombard-type arcading and covered with a quarter-sphere vault, with a barrel vault reinforced by five transverse arches and a 12th-century baptismal font. In the 18th century it was enlarged with a second nave, part of which occupies a former atrium of the Romanesque church recovered in the last restoration; of the three columns of that porch, only one is original, while the other two imitate its style.
