The Santuari dels Àngels crowns the Puig Alt (490 m), in the Massís de les Gavarres, in the municipality of Sant Martí Vell, and is one of the most visited and venerated sanctuaries in the lands of Girona, dedicated to the Mare de Déu dels Àngels. The building, included in the Inventory of the Architectural Heritage of Catalonia, has a spacious camarín, a small organ and a room with the numerous ex-votos offered by pilgrims, as well as an inn next to the chapel. From there a wide panorama can be seen over the Alt and Baix Empordà, the Gironès and la Selva, with the Pyrenees, the Montseny and the sea in the background. Salvador Dalí and Gala married here in secret on 8 August 1958, before only five witnesses. The sanctuary's feast day is 2 August.
