Santa Margarida de Quart Monument · Quart, Gironès, Girona Santa Margarida de Quart stands atop a small hill, outside the present-day settlement of Quart, which has grown up alongside the road from Gerona to Llagostera. It has a single nave of three bays with ribbed vaults and side chapels, a chancel that is polygonal inside and semicircular outside, and a choir at the west end reached through a door dated 1729. The baroque doorway, from 1748, opens between columns and is crowned by a niche with the image of the saint and a rose window; the bell tower, of Romanesque origin and restored between 1975 and 1983, preserves two storeys of twin windows on columns with corbel-shaped capitals. The temple, documented since 1362, also holds the relics of Saint Justa and Saint Rufina, patronesses of potters. Photo: Josep Maria Viñolas Esteva (CC BY-SA 4.0) What to see and do in Quart
