Tower of les Hores i muralla de Cervià de Ter Monument · Cervià de Ter, Gironès, Girona Image of Cervià de Ter, not of the place itself. The Torre de les Hores is the most visible remnant of the medieval walled precinct of Cervià de Ter, declared bien cultural de interés nacional (Catalonia's highest level of heritage protection). It formerly guarded the access gateway to the wall, of which today only a few stretches remain in various streets, along with this circular tower and the western entrance gateway. In the modern era a floor was added to house the bell clock that crowns it, replacing its original defensive function. It is entered through a lintelled door reached by three steps. The adjoining gateway, the only surviving access to the old town, opens with a large voussoired round arch above which two windows open; the small chapel on one of the corners dates from a later period.
