Sant Feliu de Celrà Monument · Celrà, Gironès, Girona Sant Feliu de Celrà, the large church at the centre of the town, is already documented in 1061, in an agreement between the counts Ramon Berenguer I and Almodis de la Marca and the viscount Ponç I de Cabrera; in 1088 Bishop Berenguer Guifré ceded it to the chapter of Girona. With a Latin-cross plan with side chapels, a vault with lunettes and a dome on squinches over the crossing, it preserves the Romanesque base of the bell tower, with a double-splayed window, while the façade and the rest of the bell tower are baroque, with Corinthian capitals similar to those of Girona; the façade, closed in 1803, displays a neoclassical door. Inside are kept statues from an old altarpiece. It is a Bien Cultural de Interés Local (IPAC 20937). Photo: Josep Maria Viñolas Esteva (CC BY-SA 4.0) What to see and do in Celrà
