Canet d'Adri Potholes Nature · Canet d'Adri, Gironès, Girona Image of Canet d'Adri, not of the place itself. Narrow river gorges easily accessible from the road, formed by the erosion of water on the surrounding volcanic rock. They are located next to Puig d'Adri, a volcano on the southern slope of the Rocacorba mountain whose basaltic flows extend over much of the valley. The erosive action of the Canet stream and its tributaries has carved deep gorges of alveolar morphology into this material, considered unique in the Catalan volcanic field, which is why the area is listed in the Pla d'Espais d'Interès Natural (Catalonia's inventory of protected natural areas). The surroundings preserve a forest of cork oaks and holm oaks with a box undergrowth, and are home to wild boar, badgers, genets and foxes, as well as numerous birds.
