Tower of Talaixà Monument · Montagut i Oix, Garrotxa, Girona Located a short distance from the village of Talaixà, next to the path leading to the Comanegra and on a small knoll, the Torre de Talaixà is a rectangular watchtower adapted to the terrain, today in ruins. The voussoirs that formed the entrance doorway can still be made out, and the walls are built of large, roughly worked stones. According to studies by Ramon Sala and Narcís Puigdevall, its structure allows it to be dated to the turn of the 14th-15th centuries. It was declared a Bien Cultural de Interés Nacional (Spain's highest level of heritage protection) on 8 November 1988 (BCIN 1058-MH). Photo: Scs1978 (CC BY-SA 3.0) What to see and do in Montagut i Oix
