Dolmen of el Cementiri dels Moros Nature · Torrent, Baix Empordà, Girona A megalithic dolmen in the les Gavarres massif, dated to around 3000-2500 BC, corresponding to the Final Neolithic, which has yielded more archaeological material than any other in the area, with the remains of more than a hundred burials. It is a V-shaped Catalan gallery of which seven vertical support slabs of the chamber and twelve of the access passage survive, with a burial chamber 12.30 metres long covered by an oval barrow with a peristalith of radial structures. It was brought to light by the Geli family of Begur, owners of the estate, and Salvador Raurich published its first description in 1923. Inside, more than 1200 dental pieces and thousands of pottery fragments were found, along with necklace beads, bone buttons and flint arrowheads.
