Parlavà Village · Parlavà, Baix Empordà, Girona Parlavà is a town in the interior of the comarca of Baix Empordà, in the province of Girona, at the foot of the Montori hill, on the plain watered by the Ter and Daró rivers; the municipality also includes the hamlet of Fonolleres. Documented since the 10th century as Palatio Rabano, it belonged between the 14th and 17th centuries to the jurisdiction of the castle of Rupià, whose bishop of Girona commissioned in 1385 a study of the possibility of fortifying the village church, the probable origin of today's fortified church of Sant Feliu, which presides over the town with its narrow alleys. In Fonolleres stands the Gothic church of San Cristóbal, and the municipality preserves numerous farmhouses from the 16th to the 18th centuries. The economy is based on dry farming and livestock. It has 432 inhabitants (INE 2025). Photo: Josep Grin (CC BY-SA 2.5) What to see and do in Parlavà
