Sant Grau d'Albons Monument · Albons, Baix Empordà, Girona A sanctuary located about 2 km west of the village of Albons (Baix Empordà), on the sierra that bears its name, near the fountain of la Merla, where, besides Sant Grau, Sant Roc and Sant Sebastià are also venerated. It preserves much of its Romanesque fabric, with the original masonry visible on the side walls and a splayed window on the south side, although in the 18th century the orientation of the nave was reversed: the old Romanesque door, to the west, became the head of the church, and the present façade, from 1753, was opened to the east, where the semicircular apse had previously stood, now disappeared save for vestiges of its foundations. The most popular aplec, that of 13 October, had almost completely disappeared and was revived in the early 21st century with mass, the singing of the Goigs and sardanas.
