Saus Village · Saus, Camallera i Llampaies, Alt Empordà, Girona Saus is one of the villages of the municipality of Saus, Camallera i Llampaies, in the comarca of the Alt Empordà, province of Girona. In the Middle Ages it belonged to the county of Empúries and in 1698 it formed part, as a royal place, of the bailiwick of Verges. In 2006 the former municipality of Saus changed its name to Saus, Camallera i Llampaies, to better identify the three villages that make it up; in 2022 the village had 131 registered inhabitants and its urban centre, 81. It retains the church of Santa Eugènia de Saus, a fortified Romanesque church set atop a small hill overlooking the urban layout, in a very quiet rural setting.
