Benedictine abbey of the former county of Empúries, within the diocese of Girona, located in the municipality of Rabós, in the Alt Empordà, next to the old road to the coll de Banyuls. The complex brings together the basilica of Sant Quirze, monastic quarters around a cloister, a defence tower, remains of a wall, the church of Santa María and the ruins of the former hospital, and it is declared Bien Cultural de Interés Nacional (Catalonia's highest level of heritage protection). The church, basilical in plan with three naves, a transept and three apses facing east, preserves Lombard decoration on the apse end and a west façade with a double round arch; a bell-gable crowns the complex, built of roughly worked stone laid in courses.
