Beach of Garbet Nature · Colera, Alt Empordà, Girona Garbet beach, in the municipality of Colera (Alt Empordà), is made up of sand, gravel and pebbles, with a width of 33 metres and a length of 449, and lies at the head of the bay of Garbet, facing east; at its southern end there is a sea rock known, as elsewhere on this coast, as Cavall Bernat. A restaurant at the edge of the beach operated between 1948 and 2018, the year its concession ended, which has allowed the area to return to a natural state; until 2009 there was also a campsite at the northern end, today converted into a municipal car park. It retains an old railway station, now unused, which once served summer bathers. The Catalan Water Agency checks the quality of its waters weekly, rated excellent.
