Tower of Malla de Parets Monument · Parets del Vallès, Vallès Oriental, Barcelona Historic tower in the municipality of Parets del Vallès, on the banks of the Besòs, at the point where this river joins the riera de Tenes. Possibly Roman remains have been found in the surrounding area, and it is believed that the Torre de Malla was originally a Roman villa called Villa Alzar, granted to a retired general of the Roman army to watch over the crossing of the Via Augusta towards Martorell with the road linking Barcelona and Vic. Local tradition also relates that the tower was the residence of a rich and powerful Moor. Photo: Enfo (CC BY-SA 4.0) What to see and do in Parets del Vallès
