Tower of Cellers Monument · Parets del Vallès, Vallès Oriental, Barcelona The Torre de Cellers stands in the municipality of Parets del Vallès, between the Tenes stream and the Besòs river. It is a castle of the late Middle Ages, perhaps with some early medieval element, first documented in 1258 in the name of Bernat de Cellers and rebuilt in the 14th century. Square in plan with a hipped roof and two battlemented circular towers at opposite corners, it was mentioned in the capitulations of John II during the Catalan civil war of 1472 and withstood attacks during the Guerra dels Segadors; in 1684 it was occupied by the baron of Rocafort and by around 1850 it was functioning as a tenant farm. It retains a hall with a barrel vault and a round arch made up of 15 voussoirs. It is declared bien cultural de interés nacional (Catalonia's highest level of heritage protection).
