Castle of Samalús Monument · Cànoves i Samalús, Vallès Oriental, Barcelona A historic manor house in the municipality of Cànoves i Samalús, in the Vallès Oriental, also known as Can Bori. It originated in the 18th century as the Mas Cavaller, and around 1895 Francesc de Puig and his relatives transformed it, giving it the appearance of a medieval castle in historicist style with neo-Gothic elements. It has a rectangular plan and three floors, the top one crowned with battlements, machicolations and gargoyles, with a pointed-arch portal in the center and a round tower on one side; it also preserves two carved 16th-century windows from the original construction. It is declared Bien Cultural de Interés Nacional (Catalonia's highest level of heritage protection). Photo: Amadalvarez (CC BY-SA 4.0) What to see and do in Cànoves i Samalús
